MICAEL & LUCAS

MENU

We had only been dating for two months when we found ourselves at a small restaurant in Lisbon, looking at each other and saying "oh, this might be it." That night, we talked for the first time about spending the rest of our lives together. Three years later, we returned to that same restaurant to celebrate our engagement. Portugal will always be one of the first places we think of when we think about falling in love, and we're so excited to share it with you, our loved ones, in celebration.

TRAVEL

Flights

Lisbon's airport code is LIS, it's an easy 15 minute Uber or taxi into the city.

Arrival & Departure Dates

We recommend arriving in Lisbon by Monday, May 25th at the latest. This gives you a buffer for any travel delays and time to settle in before our welcome event on the 26th—plus a chance to explore the city!

Plan to depart on the afternoon of May 28th at the earliest, as we'll host a casual farewell gathering that morning.

Where to Stay

Check out the "Where To Stay" page for our hotel recommendations! We love the Bairro Alto and Principe Real neighborhoods as a central base for exploring Lisbon. There will be shuttles provided from the Bairro Alto / Principe Real area to the wedding venue.

Getting Around

Within Lisbon, many destinations are easily walkable. Uber is widely available, easy to use, and affordable. The metro is also easy and convenient. There is no need to rent a car unless you plan to travel further along the coast or into the countryside.

Weather

Late May in Lisbon is beautiful, warm, and breezy - expect highs in the 70s and lows around 60. Sintra, where the wedding venue is located, can be about 5 degrees cooler.

Language

Portugal is a very English-friendly country, particularly in the larger cities like Lisbon - you will be able to get by without any knowledge of Portuguese. We recommend having an app like Google Translate on your phone to aid communication and read signs or menus.

WHERE TO STAY

There are dozens of wonderful hotels and accommodations in Lisbon! Below are our hand-picked selections across a variety of price points and styles. We will be staying at Raw Culture Art & Lofts in Bairro Alto. All of our recommendations are within walking distance - the surrounding neighborhoods are a very central, walkable base for exploring the city. Our hope is to run into you wandering the streets of Lisbon, and that you will run into other guests spontaneously throughout your stay!

NOTE: apart from Raw Culture and HOTEL HOTEL we do not have dedicated room blocks. We found that room blocks were not offered at most Lisbon hotels. We recommend booking early to lock in a good rate, many hotels offer free cancellation if plans change.
